Dear Friend of the Parks,
Parks play a vital role in every community, and La Porte is no exception. Our city parks and programs promote a better quality of life, which in turn leads to economic growth, such as attracting businesses, creating job opportunities, and drawing new residents.
Our city parks make La Porte an amazing place to work, live, raise children, and retire. The demand for continued improvements, maintenance, and programming has only increased.
Contrary to popular belief, property taxes do not cover all of the costs necessary to operate and maintain our city parks. Instead, the maintenance, improvements, programming, and growth of our city parks are dependent upon donations, fundraising, sponsorships, grants, and earned revenues.
